Why should I choose to sponsor a child with Muslim Aid?
The Muslim Aid Rainbow Family Programme provides holistic support to needy children all around the world. We believe that nurture is vital to any child’s development, requiring more than just financial support. The scheme is set up to provide healthcare, emotional and educational support for both child and family, and this can be achieved with your help.
I cannot commit to full sponsorship, how else can I be part of the Rainbow Family?
A minimum commitment of £25 per month is needed to provide support to a child and their family. However there is a ‘General Fund’ to which you can donate any amount. This fund will be used for the benefit of the Rainbow Family children and their communities. This way you can also be part of the Rainbow Family.
How much of my money will go to the child I sponsor?
From every pound donated 87.5p will go directly towards securing the child you support, 12.5p will go towards covering the cost of delivering the programme and monitoring the child’s progress.
How long will my sponsorship last?
The Rainbow Family Programme is a long term commitment to the child, providing support up till the age of 18. However, if your personal circumstances change at any time simply advise us with at least 2 months notice and we will stop your sponsorship. Your sponsored child will continue to be looked after until a new sponsor is found.
I am an existing donor. Why have the sponsorship amounts changed?
It is necessary to reflect the cost of living in different countries. For this reason there are now two price bands of £25 and £30. Children on education support will also now benefit from complete sponsorship. If you are an existing donor the Rainbow Family team will get in touch with you to go through the options.
